Prof. Maurizio Acciarri (University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy)
Maurizio Filippo Acciarri, is associate professor of Physics at UNIMIB. His research is mainly addressed to the study of photovoltaic cells and more generally to the physical aspects of energy efficiency and energy storage. In this area, he studied CO2 capture from industrial fumes and use. He is the coordinator of the GEM (Green Energy Management) Summer School and is president of the international network "SILKWAY - Energy, Connectivity, Environment, People" made up of universities, local and international stakeholders and other external partners from Europe and Central Asia.
He participates to the Network for the Sustainable Development of Universities energy working group as a contact for UNIMIB for the energy sector and he is the coordinator of the Energy Committee of the Milano-Bicocca University. Since 2019 he has been a member of the Institutional Research Committee of the National Energy Cluster as a representative of physicists (Physics for energy).
Prof. Xiaobo Ji (Central south University, China)
Xiaobo Ji is “Sheng hua” Professor, acts as associate dean in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Central South University. He received Dphil under the supervision of Prof. Richard G. Compton at University of Oxford at 2007, and undertook post-doctor work at MIT with Prof. Donald Sadoway.
His current research is specializing in the research & development of battery and Supercapacitor materials and their systems. Xiaobo Ji is Associate Editor for Electrochemistry Communications; Elsevier. He has published more than 270 peer-reviewed papers. He has received numerous awards including third National Science and Technology Award for outstanding young people in nonferrous metals of China (2018),Young Yangtze scholars, China Ministry of education (2017), National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars (2016), Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2014), New Century Excellent Talents", China Ministry of education (2011).
Prof. Z.Y. DONG (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore)
Z.Y. Dong (M’99-SM’06-F’17) is currently Professor of Energy Systems with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His previous roles include SHARP Professor with the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. He was the inaugural Director of UNSW Digital Grid Futures Institute, Director of ARC Research Hub for Integrated Energy Storage Solutions, Ausgrid Chair and Director of Ausgrid Centre for Intelligent Electricity Networks providing R&D support for the AU$500m Smart Grid, Smart City national demonstration project. His research interests include power system planning, load modelling, smart grid, smart cities, energy market, renewable energy and its grid connection, and computational methods and their application in power system analysis. He has been serving as editor/associate editor of several IEEE transactions and IET journals. He is a Fellow of IEEE.
